Sun 11th March 2007 Thanks for this gem, everything a website should be: knowledgable, informative, independent, entertaining, tasteful. The tourdates section
is a lifeline to prog fans and prog bands, hope I'll be able to check back here for years to come. Congratulations, keep up the great work.

Sat, 15th November 2003 Swine ! You've cost me a fortune, my bank has extended the overdraft yet again and my wife has threatened physical punishment over the amount of CD's I've bought as a result of your
site.
Can you not please reconsider your decision and close this irresponsible Aladin's cave of Proggy/ Rocky nonsense ? You may save me from debtors prison and a damn good whipping.....mind you I could probably do with a
bit of flaggelation... maybe you should stay open for a bit longer.
Please forget this E-mail
IHB
(editors response: Blimey Ian --- I don't think your wife is going to like the latest DVD reviews then. I'd start looking for somewhere to hide mate! ;-)

Thu, 15 Aug 2002 Hi Guys I'm sorry to hear that things are catching up with you - I know how hard it can be, and it must be even harder when you have a family as well. But it has to be said (bias
aside) - you run a great site. I browse over a few of the sites, and yours is by far the easiest and most rewarding to spend time on. And it has a distinctly UK flavour that the others don't. It would a big blow if
the site ended up suspended. You guys have put in a lot of work to keep this thing going - if you do decide to call it a day, then the least I can say is thanks! Best wishes John

Thu, 27 Jun 2002 Pleased you finally got a copy of the Tr3nity album to review. Glad also you liked it so much and gave it an excellent review, as it deserves. It is still one of my favourite albums even
though I have purchased many CDs since. As for the new Rush album I am in full agreement [with Steve] and I am devistated that after so long a wait this is the best they could do!! I think that Geddy's
"My Favorite Headache" is much more in the "Rush" vein. Maybe they shot themselves in the foot as they could not copy that style so went went off the rails with a much harder sound. I was hoping
they would have mellowed like most of us and produce a more melodic album simular to the eighties. Maybe it was wishful thinking or that I am just getting old and/or have just moved on, but I don't think so...
Still enjoy my regular visits to your site, keep up the good work Best Regards Denis

Wed, 9 Jan 2002 Hello Fellow Proggers, Just a quick note to congratulate you on your commitment to an excellent, uncompromising, and well-informed prog review site. While sites of this kind abound, I
have yet to visit one as clear and informative as this. Your hard work has paid off -- here's to an even better 2002. Robert New York, NY

14th July, 2001 Dear Steve, I've just read your review of Relayer and agree absolutely. I was 17 when Relayer came out, doing or trying to do my 6th form exams.
There is a place in me where Relayer lives and nothing else goes near it. It's a cold, strange and barren place but utterly necessary and it looks out like an alien hiding in my head sometimes when I'm trying to be a normal person and I can feel it smiling. And every week or two I play the album - I've physically worn out 5 tapes of Relayer now over the years playing it in my car - and go there again. It reminds me of the best bits in Lord of the Rings. You're right - there has never been anything like it before or since in terms of rock music. Yes made several mistakes during the late seventies and have been patchy ever since, but
up to, and including, Relayer, they did not put a single foot wrong, and just got better and better.
True art is not a competition, so I don't think in terms of one band being better than any other band, but those albums will never fade away, and nothing will ever take away the startled memory. Best wishes
Paul (of Brainstorm)

19th December 2000 I just wanted to say, TREMENDOUS, FABULOUS, MAGNIFICENT work ( I am out of words ). It is my first visit to your site. I've never been so shocked. You knocked me out.
Keep up the tremendous work.
Who am I ?. I live in São Paulo and am an accountant (I read on Oliver Wakeman's interview " It is hard when you have to work with something that is not the thing that you like the most ", my
situation ).
I love progressive rock since 1974. I have a small huge ( if that is possible ) collection of cds and vinyl records +/- 8.000. Music and audio addict. Never played an instrument but owner of a Mini Moog, a Prophet 5, Oberheim OBX-A, and other analogue synths. I can play major chords, that's all folks.
Unfortuately in my country tours and gigs by european and american bands are rare, difficult and expensive.
I wish you all a merry, merry Christmas and a fantastic and prosperous New Year. Thank you very much for your time, and please keep up the tremendous work. Warm regards. Marcelo
Many thanks for those kind words - we do our best!

23rd November 2000 Hi Simon and Marisa, Just wanted to say thank you. What for you ask? Well earlier this year I read Marisa's review of the Glenn Hughes album R.O.C.K and after reading it I went
and bought the album, I never really heard much of Glenn before as I was never a purple fan, but anyway I really liked the album so I got some of his others, then tonight I went to see his show at the LA2 and I was
blown away, the man is excellent, I haven't seen someone that entertaining and mesmerising in a long time. So thank you for introducing me to Glenn Hughes. Si

23rd November 2000 I have been a regular viewer of your pages since finding out about your excellent site while attending an Arena gig at the LA2 some time ago. I was lucky enough to win a signed CD
of theirs in a competition run by yourselves.
My E-mail to you today was sparked by reading your review of the Aussie Pink Floyd gig. I went to see them on Monday at the Reading Hexagon. They certainly gave an excellent performance.
However, I feel they are just shaded by the excellent Think Floyd, and wonder if you have come across them yourselves. The have a website at www.thinkfloyd.co,uk. As well as putting on a superb live show,
they also produce CDs of their own music, written in the Floyd style. Both are excellent CDs, and if one wa played to you without knowing better, you might well be fooled into thinking the originals had come out of
retirement!!
If you get a chance, check them out; you won't be disappointed. Thanks for the site, keep up the good work. Eddie Conway

19th November, 2000 Hi there, I loved your site. I must have spent about an hour reading CD & gig reviews. I'll check your site often. Loved it. And while i'm typing, I'd like to
bring to your attention a Dutch Band I saw playing this summer. They're called Tjolk and it's a weird bunch of guyz. Their website: www.tjolk.com
Maybe you want to check them out. well, see ya! Guus

13th November 2000 dear simon and marsia just read your brilliant review of jump's set at the arena gig. i'm a huge jump/fish/marillion fan and have followed jump since first seeing them
at a marillion fanclub show back in 1994. great to find a new site for rock news that matters! best wishes judith mitchell liverpool

9th November 2000 Hi all Just to echo Chas's comments re Spocks Beard. It was a stunning gig, certainly me best of the year so far. These guys got such a reception when they walked on stage, it was like
your favorite football team walking out of the tunnel at Wembley. I remember the LA2 gig last year being about half full. What a difference year (not to mention a high profile support slot and excellent
new album) make. They were absolutely superb. Long may they reign.
John Morley.

30th October, 2000 Just wanted to say thanks for putting my "Guitarist Wanted"advert on the musicians wanted page. As a result of this advert we are the proud owner of a new guitarist. Actually
Nick Martin from Medicine Man. We are very much looking forward to getting some material finished and getting out there sometime in the New Year.
I thought the Spocks Beard gig on saturday night at LA2 was fantastic. The best band I have seen for ages Thanks again Chas

8th July 2000 Hi Marisa, I got a tip from David Lusher (who wrote some fine reviews on the Ayreon mailing list) to visit your excellent website and he wasn't lying! Of course being the egomaniac I am, I
quickly rushed to the Ayreon reviews and yes, they were excellent indeed. I'm glad to see that you have paid attention to the lyrics and understood the concepts, and of course that you enjoyed the music!
Well, I'm off to boldly go where no one has gone before...to explore new horizons!
Greetings from the Dream Sequencer, Arjen.

|
18th June 2000 This is just a quick word to say how impressed I am with your site. It's well laid out, clear and informative AND you happen to cover a lot of my favourite
bands. Your reviews are also excellent. Compliments to all at New Horizons - I'll be a regular visitor!
Yours, David Lusher

13th April, 2000 Hi, I have said this before but need to say it again, this is an excellent site, lots of good content in appreciation of real music. I keep coming back.
I will be listening to Radio 2 this Saturday, unfortunately it looks as the prog programme may consist of the more well known groups. I can't get enough Prog. Dave.

10September Just visited the site. Looks great. Lots of info. It sometimes is hard to find concentrated prog info on the web without having to visit every band's web site. Every week I have to gather as
much up to date news as possible for use in my radio show "Symfo Zone" (Sundays 21.00 - 22.00 on Radio Nijmegen, the Netherlands). Your site is a great reference for me to use. I will make sure to
include your URL at the ending of the show each time I have used info you've provided. Thanks again for a great site!
Cheers, Jos Heijmans
Cheers Jos, I wish we could listen in to your show.

07September Been keeping a eye on things, since picking up your flyer at the Pendragon gig.
Good to see you've kept going and the site is growing bit by bit. (I know how hard it is to keep doing new stuff on a regular basis) We need some sort of prog fanzine on-line, at the
present time, you are the best of what I've found from the UK.
Charlie

03August Congratulations on a great site. May it grow and grow !
I also agree with Alex's comments on a musicians notice board.
How about a list of venues. IE: pubs / clubs etc. in the U.K that have prog bands on regularly. This would help promote this wonderful music further and enable both, up and coming bands & fans to find places to
play & listen.
Keep up the good work Chas
O.K. - I'm happy to go with the flow here - if you're a progrock musician looking for a band or vice versa send me your details.
Likewise with the venue guide - there are only two of us, covering a small area - you tell us where the venues are and we will compile a list for everyone. Marisa

13July I'd like to say I really loved the Mick Pointer interview. Including some of the 'aspects of touring' stuff is inspired, since I've rarely read of that before, and when I have, it's only been the
Hotel trashing stuff. This interview kind of connected, if you know what I mean ...more so as well since I've visited the McDonalds in Hemel. And the writing process stuff as well ...brilliant & insightful ...
see, I loved it all so much I'm gibbering through the keyboard!!!!
Great stuff, keep it up, Ed

19June i have been playing drums for almost 10 years now, and only recently having found out what i liked is progressive rock i have beenlooking for a prog group to play with... noooo such luck!
so i
have had a cunning plan, well mayby, no web sites i know have advertson them for either musicians availible or musicians wanted, mayby a page of these on your site may be a good idea, that way you are helpingto
build the british prog scene again, or some such? its an idea??
anyway keep up the good site i for one will continue to visit it
Alex
Thanks Alex - that's an idea - we'll think about this one if people let us know they want it - Editor

13 June i got your leaflet at the pendragon gig and thought i would check it out, i must say it is actually very good!! having followed pendragon for many years now i have only just found out what
progressive rock is over the past year, and so i have been buying cd's like their going out of fashion, now with a firm grip on the idea of progressive rock i am hooked!! but still being new to the prog scene i was
finding it hard to get decent info on bands and gigs, this site seems to have solved that, as the other prog site i used was not really specific enough
keep the site going!!
yours Alex
|
|
12 June Its good to see a site keeping on top of the current 'decent' music scene Keep up the good work
Regards Mark.
